The way I understand it, we are all sinners. It’s physically and spiritually impossible to climb a ladder of good deeds to God.

Romans 3:23: For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:10: No one is righteous, no not one.

Romans 6:23: Wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 10:9: That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 5:1: Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

What the author of those passages is trying to say is that no one is good enough to go to heaven. Therefore, God provided a solution to our problem. Christ’s death on the cross erased all of mankind’s sin, including YOURS. This is a free gift, which God gives to all, and all we have to do to receive it is to repent, accept, and believe.

  1. Was referred to your blog and am impressed. I encourage you to check out the blog hosted by the Indiana Family Institute (www.veritasrex.com). We’re trying to get more participation from other believers.

  2. Thanks! Checked out your blog as well. Great design and great name! I took 4 years of latin, it’s nice to get a chance to use it once and awhile. :)
